Alsya Firdausi Nuzula Fasttrack Student Class of 2021
I am Alsya Firdausi Nuzula, a native of Madura, currently pursuing both Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Chemistry at the Faculty of Science and Technology, Universitas Airlangga, Surabaya. As a student, I am enthusiastic about exploring new things and developing both my soft skills and hard skills in every aspect, particularly public speaking and leadership skills. My dream is to be a useful individual and to contribute nationally and internationally in any field of work. Additionally, I enjoy working in teams that have high enthusiasm and share common goals.
Since high school, I have been passionate about studying chemistry and various aspects related to the environment and humanity. Chemistry is one of the subjects that I find easier to understand and delve into compared to others. This interest led me to pursue my undergraduate education in Chemistry. During my college years, I have focused on organic chemistry, particularly in the isolation of natural materials, due to the diverse potential of plants worldwide, especially in Indonesia, as potent and safe alternatives in medical treatment now and in the future.
Currently, especially during the Covid-19 pandemic, society has become increasingly aware of the importance of consuming herbal medicines for treating and therapeutically managing various diseases. Moreover, the increasing resistance to antibiotics among the population has exacerbated health issues. These occurrences have heightened my interest in seizing existing opportunities through pursuing my Master’s education at Universitas Airlangga, Surabaya. I hope that by focusing on this field, I can contribute to building change and improving the quality of human resources in Indonesia, thereby providing positive energy and good impact to the surrounding community.
