UNAIR Chemistry Master Students Present Their Research Results from In Silico Study to Biosensor Topics
On Saturday (February 11), the Master’s Program in Chemistry at the Faculty of Science and Technology, Universitas Airlangga, held an online dissemination of student research via Zoom meeting. This dissemination event presented three research findings conducted by students. Yanuardi Raharjo, S.Si., M.Sc., Ph.D., the Head of the Master’s Program in Chemistry at Universitas Airlangga, stated that this dissemination event is a routine agenda of the Master’s Program in Chemistry aimed at introducing the research conducted in the program to the general public so that they can understand and be aware of it. Additionally, it provides students with the experience of presenting their research findings and defending their arguments in a scientific forum like this. “Hopefully, this agenda will be beneficial for all of us, the students, and also the prospective graduates. Success to all of you in your next career stages,” Yanuardi added.
The research findings presented by the Master’s students at this event covered three main topics: organic chemistry, analytical chemistry, and physical chemistry. The students who presented their research were as follows:
- Nur Lailatus Sa’adah with the title “Design of Dihydropyrimidinone Derivatives as Cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) and Aldose Reductase (ALR2) Inhibitor: an In Silico Study.”
- Ahlan Riwahyu Habibi with the title “Mixed Matrix Membrane Adsorbers Zeolite from Rice Husk Ash for Urea Purification in Dialysate.”
- Siti Febtria Asrini Sugito with the title “Synthesis and Characterization of Nanohybrid AuNPs@MnO2 By Seed-Mediated Growth As A Candidate of Histamine Biosensor.”
Although this event was conducted online, it did not diminish the enthusiasm of the participants in joining the activities. This was evident from the numerous participants who asked questions during the Q&A session.
