UNAIR Chemistry won a grant from the Merdeka Campus Competition program in the odd semester of the 2022-2023 academic year.

PKKM (Program Kompetisi Kampus Merdeka) is an open competition program with a tiered selection system. It encompasses both study programs and institutional-level programs prioritized for managing the Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) or Institutional Support System (ISS) – MBKM. Specifically, at the study program level, PKKM aims to enhance the quality, relevance, and innovation of higher education to respond to and anticipate future developments in science and technology (IPTEK), aligned with the strengths of the study programs. It also aims to strengthen collaborations with businesses (DUDI) and top world-class universities to transform higher education for international recognition and enhance national competitiveness. PKKM ISS-MBKM is specifically designed to strengthen MBKM governance and facilitate the implementation of merdeka campus initiatives across all study programs.

Proses Seleksi PKKM di Jakarta

After a series of selection processes, the Department of Chemistry at Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) has been selected as one of the recipients of the PKKM grant for the Fiscal Year 2022, Wave I. This decision is based on the letter from the Director General of Higher Education, Research, and Technology Number 0544/E.E3/PM.00.03/2022 dated July 5, 2022. In addition to Chemistry, other institutions within Universitas Airlangga that also received grants include the Development Economics Program, Robotics and Artificial Intelligence Engineering Program, and ISS-MBKM.

Universitas Airlangga is categorized under the Liga 1 grant recipients. Liga 1 universities are expected to have a strong foundation to make significant leaps in transforming higher education internationally based on each university’s niche, thereby accelerating their programs to achieve internationally recognized performance. Universities are also encouraged to transform into more independent and healthy institutions with strengths in education, research, or community service, aligning with their differentiated missions.

Congratulations to the Department of Chemistry at UNAIR! May all the planned activities under PKKM 2022 be successfully implemented and bring significant benefits to the entire academic community of the Department of Chemistry at UNAIR.
