UNAIR Department of Chemistry hosted a guest lecture from the University of Malaya on drug delivery from acylated chitosan
The Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Science and Technology, Universitas Airlangga, in collaboration with the Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Science, Universiti Malaya, Malaysia, held a guest lecture titled “Preparation of Acylated Chitosan Coated Fatty Acid Liposome for Drug Delivery Application.” The lecture was delivered by Prof. Dr. Misni Bin Misran, an expert in Colloid Chemistry (Nanoliposome) from Universiti Malaya, Malaysia. This event was held offline in the Chemistry Meeting Room at FST UNAIR on August 19, 2022, from 09:00 to 11:00.
The participants of this guest lecture were master’s students from the Chemistry Department of FST UNAIR, including both national and international students from various fields of chemistry. The two-hour lecture began with a presentation by the speaker, followed by a Q&A session. Several interesting questions arose during the Q&A session, revolving around the effectiveness of modified chitosan material for drug delivery applications, the safety of the material, and optimal synthesis methods. The participants were very enthusiastic throughout the lecture and were pleased to gain new knowledge in drug delivery applications. The guest lecture concluded with an appreciation award presented to the speaker by the Head of the Chemistry Department of FST UNAIR.
