The Department of Chemistry, Universitas Airlangga, held a guest lecture by industry practitioners on the topic of Plant Design and Process Control in Industry on Saturday (20/11) via Zoom Meeting.

The event, moderated by Fatiha Khairunnisa, S.Si., M.Si., began with opening remarks from the head of the undergraduate Chemistry program department, Mochamad Zakki Fahmi, S.Si., M.Si., Ph.D., followed by a presentation from Prof. Dr. Ni Nyoman Tri Puspaningsih, M.Si. This practitioner guest lecture was part of the Matching Fund and MBKM activities organized by the Center for Research on Engineering of Biomolecular and the Department of Chemistry at Universitas Airlangga.

The practitioner lecture was delivered by Dr. Ir. Achmadin Luthfi Machsun, M.Eng., who is the director of PT Enerba Technology. He began his presentation by sharing his experiences in industrial biotechnology training over several years, emphasizing the importance of considering the Investor Perspective. His main topics included an overview of EPC Projects (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) and Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams.

Following the presentation, the session continued with a Q&A segment, during which many participants, including professors and students, enthusiastically engaged with Dr. Luthfi. The event aimed to initiate collaboration between industry and higher education institutions, particularly Universitas Airlangga.
