Airlangga (Unair) has once again made a remarkable achievement by securing international accreditation from the Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC) for both its undergraduate (Bachelor\u2019s) and graduate (Master\u2019s) programs.<\/strong> The RSC is a prestigious UK-based organization dedicated to the advancement of chemical sciences. This accreditation stands as clear evidence of international recognition for the department\u2019s excellence in delivering high-quality education at both academic levels, in accordance with global standards.<\/p><br><p data-start=\"580\" data-end=\"947\">The accreditation process was rigorous and involved multiple stages of thorough evaluation. The RSC assessment team reviewed the curriculum, laboratory facilities, research quality, and the competence of faculty members at the Department of Chemistry. The series of assessment activities by the Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC) concluded on Monday, February 10, 2025.<\/p><br><p data-start=\"949\" data-end=\"1397\">The RSC assessment team was led by <strong data-start=\"984\" data-end=\"1021\">Prof. Dr. Zanariah binti Abdullah<\/strong> from the University of Malaya (Malaysia), and included three other members: <strong data-start=\"1098\" data-end=\"1119\">Dr. June McCombie<\/strong> from the University of Nottingham (UK), <strong data-start=\"1160\" data-end=\"1177\">Shreyan Patel<\/strong> from RSC, and <strong data-start=\"1192\" data-end=\"1230\">Prof. Yuni Krisyuningsih Krisnandi<\/strong> from Universitas Indonesia. After undergoing a comprehensive assessment, the RSC officially recognized that Unair\u2019s Chemistry programs are eligible for accreditation.<\/p><br><p data-start=\"1399\" data-end=\"2162\">The Head of the Department of Chemistry, <strong data-start=\"1440\" data-end=\"1478\">Prof. Mochammad Zakki Fahmi, Ph.D.<\/strong>, expressed that this accomplishment is the result of hard work and dedication from the entire academic community and related stakeholders. \u201cWe are truly grateful and proud of this accreditation. It proves that the Chemistry study program at Unair meets international standards and can compete globally,\u201d he stated. Prof. Zakki, a renowned nanotechnology expert, also expressed hope that this recognition by a UK-based international institution\u2014along with the department&#8217;s recent inclusion in the QS World University Rankings by Subject (ranking third nationally in Chemistry)\u2014will bring significant impact to the advancement of chemistry, both globally and particularly in Indonesia.<\/p><br><p data-start=\"2164\" data-end=\"2755\">Dean of the Faculty of Science and Technology, <strong data-start=\"2211\" data-end=\"2247\">Prof. Dr. Miratul Khasanah, M.Si<\/strong>, also praised the achievement and expressed hope that the RSC international accreditation will further boost the competitiveness of Unair graduates in both the job market and academic field. She emphasized that this international accreditation places Unair and its programs on par with other global universities. \u201cWith this accreditation, our graduates will have greater opportunities to pursue further studies abroad or work at global companies,\u201d said the professor specializing in electrochemical sensors.<\/p><br><p data-start=\"2757\" data-end=\"3121\">This milestone is also expected to enhance the quality of research and foster international collaborations in the field of chemistry. The Department of Chemistry at Unair remains committed to improving educational standards, expanding partnerships with international institutions, and producing graduates who are competent and ready to excel in a globalized world.<\/p><br><p data-start=\"3123\" data-end=\"3500\" data-is-last-node=\"\" data-is-only-node=\"\">With the accreditation from RSC, the Department of Chemistry at Unair further strengthens its position as one of the leading chemical education institutions in Indonesia. This achievement serves as a powerful motivation for the entire academic community to continue innovating and contributing to the development of chemical sciences, both nationally and internationally.
