The Program Coordinators (KPS) provided detailed information about the postgraduate programs at FST-UNAIR during the promotional and outreach event held from August 2-5, 2022, in Samarinda-Makassar. During this event, the KPS also shared information about various research activities, research groups, achievements of each program, and the types of scholarships available for prospective postgraduate students at FST-UNAIR.

The enthusiasm among undergraduate students and faculty members from the Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Mathematics departments was very high. Many undergraduate students sought information on continuing their studies to the master’s level at FST-UNAIR. Additionally, faculty members with master’s degrees showed great interest in pursuing their PhDs.

During the promotional event, the KPS also initiated discussions for collaborations and Memorandums of Agreement (MoA) with various universities, including:

1. Mulawarman University, Samarinda
2. Samarinda State Agricultural Polytechnic
3. Samarinda School of Health Sciences
4. Hasanuddin University, Makassar

These collaborations focused on the three pillars of higher education: education (including student exchanges and joint learning through the Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka program), research and publication collaborations, and community service. Besides promoting the postgraduate programs and initiating collaborations, the KPS had the opportunity to deliver guest lectures as part of institutional branding and community service. This activity was met with great enthusiasm from faculty, students, and program-faculty-university officials. It is hoped that these activities will significantly impact the branding of the programs, faculty, and university.

The Postgraduate Programs of the Faculty of Science and Technology at Universitas Airlangga (FST-UNAIR), which include Master’s in Biology, Master’s in Chemistry, Master’s in Biomedical Engineering, Master’s in Mathematics, and PhD in Natural Sciences, continuously strive to increase the number of students, both local and international. Efforts made by each postgraduate program at FST-UNAIR include promoting the programs through online media such as websites and various social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. The distribution of postgraduate program booklets has also been ongoing. Additionally, the organization of guest lectures and public lectures on both national and international scales, featuring guest lecturers from abroad, has been an annual effort by each program. Collaborative research, thesis supervision, and publication collaborations have also been pursued to increase the number of international students.
