UNAIR Department of Chemistry held a two-day National Meeting on Entrepreneurship Learning Model Development
The Chemistry Department of the Faculty of Science and Technology at Universitas Airlangga held a two-day workshop on the development of an entrepreneurial learning model on August 25-26, 2022. The workshop took place at Amarta Hills Hotel and Resort, Batu City, East Java Province. This event was a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) between practitioners from several companies and academics from the Chemistry Department. Two practitioners served as speakers for this event: Agustinus Tjandra, Owner and Director of Javamas Agrophos, a company in the fertilizer industry, and Nilamsari Sahadewa, Owner and CEO of PT. Sari Kreasi Boga and PT. Baba Rafi Indonesia.
The workshop aimed to adapt the curriculum of the Chemistry Program to the learning pattern of Merdeka Belajar (Freedom of Learning). By incorporating entrepreneurship content into several courses, the goal is to foster entrepreneurial spirit among students, thereby enhancing the quality of higher education graduates, improving the quality of faculty, and enhancing the quality of the curriculum and learning process. According to Agustinus, “technological advancements are progressing very rapidly and will accelerate even further in the future, so we must start thinking globally to actively participate in it, or else we will just be spectators.”
