Dissemination of Research Results by UNAIR Master’s Students in Organic Chemistry for the Odd Semester 2022-2023

On Sunday (5/2/2023), the Master’s Program in Chemistry, Faculty of Science and Technology, Universitas Airlangga, held a webinar titled “Research Dissemination Event for Chemistry Graduate Students” with the theme “Organic Topic About Isolation and Bioactivity of Clausena harmandiana and Clausena excavata.”

The event was conducted online via Zoom, beginning with an opening by Luhana Ahadia as the Master of Ceremony. Following this, Yanuardi Raharjo, S.Si., M.Sc., Ph.D., Head of the Master’s Program in Chemistry, Faculty of Science and Technology, Universitas Airlangga, delivered a welcome speech. He stated that “This event is regularly held to showcase the graduates of the Master’s Program in Chemistry, and it also serves as an opportunity for potential collaborators to get to know the program, which might interest them in collaboration.” He also congratulated and wished success to the Master’s students presenting their research findings.

The main agenda continued with the presentation of research results by the Master’s students, moderated by Rizka Tazky Amalia. Four Master’s students in Organic Chemistry presented their research findings:

  1. Suhaili with the research title “Isolation and Antimicrobial Assay Roots of Clausena harmandiana n-Hexane Extract.”
  2. Theint Su Wai with the research title “Isolation and Antioxidant Assay Stem Barks of Clausena harmandiana Ethyl Acetate Extract.”
  3. Thae Thae Su Pyae Naing with the research title “Isolation and Antioxidant Assay Roots of Clausena harmandiana Ethyl Acetate Extract.”
  4. Amalina Izzatul Islami with the research title “Isolation and Antimicrobial Assay Roots of Clausena excavata n-Hexane Extract.”

The agenda continued with the main event, which was the presentation of research findings by Master’s students in Chemistry, moderated by Rizka Tazky Amalia. Four Master’s students in Chemistry presented their research findings. The event proceeded smoothly and orderly, followed by a question-and-answer session. The audience was quite enthusiastic during the Q&A session, as evidenced by the various questions directed at the presenters. After all the presentation sessions were completed, the main event was closed.

The successful execution of this event demonstrated that regularly conducting dissemination activities can indeed increase the interest of the audience and collaborators in the Master’s Program in Chemistry at Universitas Airlangga. It is hoped that this event can continue to be held regularly and improve in the future.
