Hamizah Haula, a student from Sidoarjo, earned a Master’s degree in Analytical Chemistry at Airlangga University.
Hamizah Haula’, a graduate student of Chemistry Unair class of 2020 has successfully completed her thesis final exam. The student under the guidance of Yanuardi Raharjo, S.Si., M.Sc., Ph.D and Dr. Miratul Khasanah, M.Si has held an offline closed examination on July 20, 2022 at 09.40-11.40 WIB at the Chemistry Master Room, Faculty of Science and Technology, Universitas Airlangga. Her thesis entitled “Imprinted Zeolite-Indoxyl Sulfate for Uremic Toxin Clearance of Indoxyl Sulfate in Hemodialysis Applications” has been presented very satisfactorily in front of 5 examining lecturers, namely Yanuardi Raharjo, S.Si., M. Sc., Ph.D. as the head of the examination team, Dr. Miratul Khasanah, M.Si., Dr. Alfa Akustia Widati, M.Si, Dr. Sri Sumarsih, M.Si., and Mochammad Zakki Fahmi, M.Si., Ph.D. as the members of the examination team.
There were several questions and suggestions to refine Hamizah’s thesis manuscript, as noted by Dr. Sri Sumarsih, M.Si., “Biocompatibility testing of IZ-IS in Hollow Fiber membranes in the future could be conducted as a comparison with IZ-IS in powder form.” Additionally, the thesis defense atmosphere was warm, punctuated by discussions that significantly aided the student in improving the presented thesis. As a requirement for completing her Master’s degree, Hamizah has already published a journal review titled “Dialysis Membrane for Acute Kidney Injury” in the Membranes Journal.
Hamizah, a graduate of an Islamic boarding school and Chemistry undergraduate from Universitas Negeri Malang, hopes that her research will contribute to the treatment of kidney failure patients undergoing hemodialysis.
